Königin von Saba, Design Alexa Blum
The collection idea is based on the story of the Queen of Sheba, whose elegance and wealth are shrouded in legend. Numerous writings of antiquity tell of the beauty and exquisite preciousness of her treasures. Radiant crystals such as sapphire, topaz, and amethyst; emerald, peridot, and carnelian were the model for color development in their iridescent multicolors. The twisting of two yarn colors creates a luminous play of colors that gives the wool surface a precious brilliance. Pure virgin wool, hand-dyed, creates a very dense surface. A leather band runs through the rug surface like an inlay. This creates a charming interplay between materials that are distinguished by their high quality and meticulous workmanship: high-pile colored shimmering wool and smooth, supple leather, whose accurate decorative stitching creates an exciting contrast to the moving wool surface. The asymmetrical placement of the leather band creates proportions that provide an interesting impetus for interior design.
The "Königin von Saba" collection reflects the desire for select, individual pieces, made of high-quality materials and in a balanced and valid design language, to become long-lasting companions.
