The Kramis Family
How everything began
"Actually, I never wanted to work in a factory".
When Felix Kramis was no longer able to pursue his bricklaying job due to an accident at the age of 20, he took up a position as a production worker in a rug manufacturing company. His girlfriend at the time and now wife, Doris Kramis, was "to blame" for him taking this step. Then suddenly everything changed and Felix was allowed to spend seven years helping to set up a hand-tufting department, which has left its mark on him to this day. He was one of the first people in Switzerland to practice and develop this craft. His passion for high quality rugs grew from day to day like more and more
When Felix Kramis wanted to create rugs himself and design modern collections, he founded Kramis Teppich Design AG in 1987, together with his wife. Already with professional equipment, he began to design the first rugs in his hobby room and to present them in specialized shops. He was already a perfectionist at that time and did not want to do things by halves. After many hard years of development and diligence, he was able to slowly prove himself and thus place the KRAMIS brand in the Swiss interior design industry.
The two sons Daniel and Tim have grown up with a textile affinity. After school, homework has been solved amidst the rugs before the Lego box was emptied out on them. For this reason, it was quickly clear that both would join the business. The spark of passion quickly jumped to them and they themselves wanted to convey the quality of life of the rugs to customers who are enthusiastic about beautiful living.
Meanwhile, the Kramis family forms the management and thus the heart of the company. Four people, with their own strengths and skills, pull together and ensure long-term success with an innovative future.
By the way, the name Kramis is a Swiss name and comes from the Seetal.
